Kid Charged WonderWeek at Children’s Museum Houston
presented by Chevron
Center for Houston’s Future partnered with Children’s Museum Houston to create programming for kids to explore how innovation goes hand in hand with play, curiosity and experimentation as they discover the future of fuel. Kids tested remote-controlled toy cars that run on hydrogen fuel and built water molecules to learn how those molecules are changed by fuel cells. In 2023, this special event was sponsored by Chevron. Learn more.
This effort was part of a larger project, Driving the Future, which was funded by CenterPoint Energy Foundation in 2023. Nearly 150 students at 10 schools have the opportunity to learn about various forms of energy, including low or no-carbon sources, in a six-session after school program. The curriculum was developed by Center for Houston’s Future and Children’s Museum Houston to introduce students in grades 3-8 to the energy transition through a hands-on learning experience.
